About Mike Derry
I was born in Calgary, have 2 boys (11 and 13) and a wonderful wife of 18 years. My boys attend local public schools, and my family is very active in the community.
After many years in corporate leadership within the Oil & Gas sector, I started and continue to manage my own successful human resource and business consulting business, LegendDERRY Talent. I understand the corporate world and being a small business owner. I bring people together to find solutions.
I genuinely want to help people advance in their personal and professional journeys, and help remove any barriers along the way. I volunteer extensively with youth hockey, education programs and local non-profit organizations.
I prioritize affordability, education, health care, and increased transparency. I believe in open and honest communication, even when those conversations may be difficult.
I am a United Conservative running for Nomination and MLA in Calgary Shaw because I want to continue giving back to the community that has provided so many opportunities for me, my business, and my family. My focus will always be on public service and working for you.

What’s Going On
Alberta Electorial Boundries
Every 10 years, ridings are reviewed based on population by the Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission. Things are changing for 2027.
They released an initial report with proposed changes on October 27, 2025.
- Written responses were accepted in December 19, 2025.
- Public Meetings will be held in January 2026
- Final report to legislature expected by the end of March 2026
- There are likely significant changes to Calgary-Shaw. The initial proposal would mean communities WEST of Macleod Trail and parts of Chaparral would leave Shaw, but we would gain Cranston. Wolf Willow, Legacy and Waldon are not expected to be impacted.

Membership Rules
In order to vote in the upcoming United Conservative Party Nomination Election, you must have a membership for at least 21 days prior.
Eligibility:
- Canadian Citizen
- 14+ years of age
- Been residing in Alberta for at least 6 months in the previous 12

Membership is $10 for 1 year, or $25 for 3 years!
Donations
| Mike’s pre-nomination campaign is self-funded. Donation rules are a little different when you are helping a candidate become the nominee. Before becoming the official nominee, a candidate may accept donations directly from their supporters. 100% of these donations go to my campaign; however, tax receipts are not issued for this donation type. Cash/e.Transfer donations are appreciated, but gifts-in-kind, such as directly covering expenses such as printing costs, are also possible.
